This years program is packed with top notch education and entertainment - stretched an extra 1/2 day to allow you more time to network with your peers and take advantage of the trade show vendors that provide a variety of products that will enhance your business. We will begin the convention on Sunday evening with the "Maxine's 5'O'Clock Somewhere Party" - dress in your favorite caribbean wear and party in our tropical paradise as we kick off the 2009 Convention with a BANG!
Monday will begin with our Prayer Breakfast followed by the Opening Session that you won't want to miss! Harvey Alston will inspire and motivate you to be your best and set the tone for this years convention! CEO's from our four reinsurance companies will join us for a question and answer session followed by our Annual Business Meeting & Luncheon. Our Auxiliary program will offer many different tips for our busy lifestyles.
After lunch, Art Meadows from Panhandle Farmers Mutual will share his secrets of how he lead his company through some challenging times ~ bringing them back from near financial ruins to a vibrant, financially strong company in less than five years. This program will qualify for Director Certification hours in NAMIC's program. We will end the day with a relaxing dinner where you can sit back and enjoy some toe-tapping entertainment as Dueling Piano's pick up the pace in "double time"! 6 Continuing Education Hours will be provided on Monday Tuesday opens with our Trade Show where members can visit our vendors and find new ways to enhance your business! We are allowing extra time in the Trade Show this year. Opening Session begins at 8:30 with an energizing presentation from Rolfe Carawan followed by our special guest, Shaun Tarbuck from England ~ speaking about the value that Mutuals bring to the insurance industry and the effects worldwide.
Our Auxiliary Program will kick off with a tour of the Kickapoo Creek Winery followed by a shopping excursion at the Grand Prairie Shopping Mall with a very nice luncheon! Back at the Embassy, members will enjoy our Industry Lunch with guest speaker, Bruce Thomas, 2009 NAMIC Chairman in addition to a special guest! Our afternoon education sessions will run concurrently with Lobbyist Phil Lackman presentation on Insurance Regulatory Environment (Director Certification hours) Knowing what challenges we face will help you make the commitment to our mission ~ and the IL State Fire Marshall K-9 Unit presenting the Arson Dog! We will then prepare for our evening event - the Annual Banquet! Once again, we will offer complimentary photo's for all attendees.
This year we will print them on site and have the available for you to take home with you. Our Banquet is our Chairman Maxine Bussan's final duty for convention - join us as we swear in our new Chairman and board members, recognize the prestigious LAUTUM Award winner and listen to Maxine's farewell speech. We will end the evening with entertaining speaker Karen Mills who will bring laughter into your hearts! Wednesday is the Time to Unwind -- joining your friends for a relaxing day of golf at the beautiful Coyote Creek Golf Course or for a 50-derby challenge at the Trap Shoot at Darnall's Gun Works!
